• 3.0 out of 5 stars from hmewrdbd -- Not the quality of her first two series : I really like T.I. Lowe's first two series, Bleu Streak, and Coming Home Again--along with Lulu's Cafe, even the novella The Reversal. The depth of character development, serious life issues, laugh-out-loud humor (especially Julia's Journey), quirkiness were unique and refreshing in Christian fiction. Since then, however, her books read, for me, more like teenage/YA fluff. This author is capable of much better. I get whiffs of her talent in this current series, but I wish she' go back to her earlier writing. I will finish this series, because I like to finish character sets, but not sure if I'll buy more. • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Karen V. -- Must Read : “Driftwood Dreams” is the second book in the “The Carolina Coast” series and it is the third book I have read by T.I. Lowe. This book can be read separately, however, it is so much better if you read them together and in order to get the full enjoyment out of this book. In this novel, you get better acquainted with two of the characters from the first novel, Josie and August. You will also continue to hear about Opal and Lincoln who were the main characters from the first novel, “Beach Haven”. Josie is so scared after losing her mom that something bad will happen to her dad that she does not even try to follow her passion of art. She also spends what time she is not spending helping her dad assisting everyone else in town with whatever they need. August has finally come back to town to stay. Josie and August have a past history together and as you are reading you wonder if they will pick up where they left off. If you are looking for a good beach fun read and like some romance then this book is for you! T.I. Lowe does an amazing job of bringing you into the lives of her characters where you feel like you live in the town with them. You should definitely read this novel and the one before it. • 4.0 out of 5 stars from Karen A. Peale -- August crush : I am going to assume that this is the same character from another book who goes off to France to do art. I fell in love with that character even though he was secondary in the romance. If it’s possible to fall in love with a fictional character I did as a found his charm and his appearance different and inviting. I am disappointed at the lack of scripture or anything spiritual in this book and that is why it gets four stars instead of five. In fact so far the series has tended to be the least spiritual of everything that the author has done, Which I hope does not mean that she is watering down her books as it seems to be the trend with many Christian authors. • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Voracious Book Reader -- This is a good one! : It’s no secret to those that know me that I’m a fan of T.I. Lowe’s writing. There are lots of great books out there but few are filled with lighthearted romance, fun moments, real characters , and the heartbreaking truths that we face in real life. She always writes about redemption and I really enjoy how each unique character finds that in their story. I am ready for the next book in this series...it won’t be published quick enough.
